A brief introduction on the different modules located in The Guard

This article provides a high-level overview of every module within The Guard. Each module serves a specific purpose in helping your organization manage compliance, security, training, and risk. Click the blue module names below to open the full article detailing features, workflows, and use cases.

Dashboard

The Dashboard provides a real-time overview of your organization’s compliance status.

From here you can view:

  • Recommended tasks for unmet or partially met Controls

  • Training progress by users

  • Overdue or upcoming deadlines

  • System alerts requiring attention

 

Policies

The Policies module allows your organization to create, manage, and distribute policies.

Key capabilities include:

  • Access to our full policy library

  • Drafting and adopting new policies

  • Tracking progress toward employee attestation

  • Organization-wide dissemination of finalized policies

Programs

The Programs module centralizes project and initiative management across all healthcare compliance requirements.

Use this module to:

  • Identify Controls that are met, partially met, or not met

  • Receive automated remediation task recommendations

  • Track compliance progress over time

  • Organize large-scale compliance initiatives


 

Standards

The Standards module provides direct alignment with regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
You can track compliance readiness for:

  • HIPAA

  • OSHA

  • SOC 2

  • Other regulatory or security frameworks

This module shows progress toward meeting each requirement and highlights gaps that need remediation.


 

Employees

The Employees module is used to add and manage Workforce Members in The Guard.
You can:

  • Add employees individually or via bulk upload

  • Manage employee access and assignments

  • Track which users have completed required training



Asset Tracking

The Asset Tracking module supports inventory management across your organization.
You can track:

  • Devices (computers, tablets, phones)

  • Applications

  • Cloud-based systems

  • Device security controls and risk ratings



Training

The Training module allows Administrators to assign and track compliance training for Workforce Members.
This includes:

  • Assigning modules (e.g., HIPAA, Security Awareness)

  • Tracking training completion status

  • Accessing training certificates for audit support



Vendors

The Vendors module helps your organization manage third-party risk.
Features include:

  • Tracking all vendors and associated agreements

  • Uploading and storing BAAs

  • Determining vendor approval or denial status

  • Monitoring vendor compliance requirements



Incidents

The Incidents module handles incident reporting and response workflows.
Users can:

  • Report incidents at any time

  • Document investigations and outcomes

  • Manage HIPAA-required incident response steps

  • Track incident status through resolution



Admin Settings

The Admin settings allow organization administrators to manage system-wide settings.
Admins can:

  • Add or remove team members

  • Manage roles and permissions

  • Add and manage locations

  • Access the public-facing Incident Reporting Portal URL
